Positions are spread across New Zealand, including the Auckland and Waikato regions, depending on what each business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Talk through each client's preferences and suggest services that suit them
- Within your area of expertise, deliver hairdressing, barbering and beauty services of a high standard
- Cut, style, blow-dry and put hair up for both men and women
- Handle professional colour work: roots, global colour, foils, highlights, lowlights, balayage, ombré, toning and colour correction
- Where qualified, carry out keratin, nanoplasty, Hair Botox and other smoothing treatments, plus straightening, perming and other chemical services
- Offer barbering and grooming for men where it applies
- Do threading, waxing, facials and further beauty treatments, and, where qualified, eyebrow and eyelash work such as extensions and tinting
- Advise clients on professional products and care routines for home
- Uphold strong standards of hygiene, cleanliness and workplace health and safety
- Make every client feel welcome with a professional experience, and grow lasting client relationships
- Present yourself well and behave professionally at all times
- Cooperate with the rest of the salon team in a busy setting
- Keep learning so your technical knowledge and skills stay current
Requirements & Eligibility
- Preferred: a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
- A relevant industry qualification and/or professional salon experience you can demonstrate
- Proven technical skill that suits the position you apply for, including practical use of modern hairdressing, barbering and/or beauty techniques
- Able to show genuine, hands-on experience in the industry
- Strong skills in client consultation and communication, with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Well presented, reliable and professional
- Can work independently and also contribute well to a team
- Strongly committed to quality, hygiene and professional standards
- Keen to build a long-term career in the hair and beauty industry
- Can provide evidence of relevant qualifications and professional experience when required
- Current work rights in New Zealand, or eligible to obtain an appropriate work visa
