Key Responsibilities
- Cut hair with precision using scissors, thinning scissors and clippers, including men's cuts and styles
- Do colour and highlight work to a professional standard
- Carry out chemical straightening and other suitable hair treatments
- Wash, condition and prepare the scalp before each service
- Style hair for formal occasions, events and professional sessions, and do braiding or hair piece work when needed
- Talk with each client about their hair needs, then style them the way they like
- Suggest the right home hair care routine and professional products
- Keep your technical work and presentation at a high level
- Keep your station tidy, organised and hygienic
- Build friendly, professional relationships so clients come back and your loyal clientele grows
- Work well with others to keep the salon cooperative and supportive
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience as a professional hairdresser, with practical skills you can demonstrate
- A maximum of 5 years' experience working in the industry
- Strong skills in cutting, colouring and styling, plus hands-on experience doing highlights and chemical treatments
- Confident cutting hair for both men and women
- Competent at styling for events and occasions
- Good knowledge of hair care and which products to recommend
- Strong communication skills, especially during client consultations
- Reliable and punctual, with a professional appearance
- A friendly, confident manner with customers
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Flexible about your working hours
