General Maintenance Supervisor

Can you fix many different things around a property? A well-established hospitality and accommodation property in Sydney is looking for an experienced General Maintenance Supervisor. You should have proven, hands-on experience across multiple trades.
Hospitality work is busy and changes quickly. You will handle all kinds of property tasks with confidence and respond well when something needs fixing. Your work covers guest rooms, public areas, recreation amenities, landscaped grounds and the general infrastructure of the site. The goal is simple: keep the place safe, working well and welcoming for guests and staff.
Prepare an English-language CV that lists each trade you have worked in and the tools you can use.
Key Responsibilities
- Do general building repairs and planned preventative maintenance
- Take on basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, plastering and other handyman jobs
- Look after guest rooms, amenities, public facilities, recreation areas, pools, pumps and general property infrastructure
- Use lawn mowers, brush cutters, tractors and other equipment to care for gardens, roads, fences and landscaped areas
- Help with renovation, refurbishment and property improvement projects
- Check the facilities regularly to find what needs maintenance, and act quickly on requests from management and guests
- Follow Workplace Health and Safety standards in all your work
- Keep tools and equipment in good order and maintenance records up to date
- Help keep the property well presented and running efficiently
Requirements & Eligibility
- A background in general maintenance, building maintenance, facilities management or a similar role
- Hands-on practical skills in multiple trades, and able to find and fix maintenance problems efficiently
- Physically fit and able to do manual work
- Reliable and self-motivated, able to work independently, with good communication and customer service skills
- Current driver's licence, or willing to get an Australian driver's licence
- Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting or landscaping is highly regarded
- A White Card is advantageous
- Experience operating a forklift, tractor or excavator is desirable
- Previous work in hotels, resorts, caravan parks or tourism facilities is preferred
