Key Responsibilities
- Guide and back up your crew so each day's work gets done efficiently
- Teach apprentices and newer workers what you know about horticulture
- Prune, hedge, weed and plant, and keep plants healthy
- Maintain gardens at houses and commercial sites to a high-end finish, paying close attention and improving things before they become problems
- Notice where a garden could be better and recommend a fix
- Organise the jobs given to you and complete them within the timeframes set
- Run gardening machines and tools safely and keep them in good working order
- Help the team deliver the same quality on every job, and act as a professional face of the business with clients
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated background in horticulture, landscaping or garden maintenance
- Either a relevant horticulture qualification or strong experience in the industry
- Confident running garden maintenance work independently
- Team experience, including supporting others in a leadership capacity
- Good communicator with a professional approach
- Dependable, honest and committed to the job
- Takes pride in workmanship and has excellent attention to detail; well organised and manages time well
- Comfortable with hand tools, machinery and industry equipment
- Holds a current manual driver’s licence
