Front of House Supervisor

Can you keep calm and lead when a restaurant is full? A growing hospitality business in South Melbourne, Victoria, wants an experienced Front of House Supervisor for a hands-on leadership role.

Busy service needs someone who takes ownership. You will guide the FOH team, protect service standards and help every customer have a good experience, every time. The employer wants real leadership, sound decisions and the ability to keep things moving under pressure.

Genuine hospitality experience is the main focus. Be ready to explain clearly what you were responsible for before, how you led people and what you know about front-of-house work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and coordinate front-of-house service, guiding staff and placing them at the right service stations
  • Own the shift from opening right through to close, including smooth handovers so key information is passed on
  • Watch how service is flowing and deal well with any operational problems
  • Give customers consistent, professional service, and answer their questions or fix their issues properly
  • Look after POS transactions, orders and cash handling
  • Keep service efficient by working closely with the kitchen staff
  • Check FOH cleanliness, presentation and food safety practices
  • Keep workplace and service standards in place for the whole shift
  • Help train and develop FOH staff
  • Jump in and help the team with hands-on tasks during peak times
  • Lead by example with professional behaviour and high work standards

Requirements & Eligibility

  • You have proven experience as a Front of House Supervisor or in a similar hospitality leadership role
  • You have managed or coordinated hospitality staff, and can demonstrate it
  • High-volume hospitality or QSR experience is advantageous
  • You have strong people-management and communication skills
  • You handle customers and solve problems with confidence
  • You stay calm, organised and effective when service is busy
  • You are responsible and dependable, with a positive, professional attitude to hospitality
  • You are available on weekdays, evenings and weekends
  • You hold a current RSA Certificate
  • Your previous employment and relevant experience must be genuine and verifiable, and you must satisfy the applicable requirements for visa sponsorship
