Are you an experienced civil construction worker? Major infrastructure projects across South Australia are hiring. Roles are open for Formwork Carpenters, Concreters, Steel Fixers, Leading Hands and Trade Assistants.
Your experience must be easy to prove. Your past roles, the duties you did and the projects you worked on should show it clearly. Each person is assessed on real trade skill, reliability, safety awareness and how well they work on demanding sites.
Tip: collect your work references now, and get any Indonesian-language documents translated into English if they are needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out formwork carpentry to the project's required specifications
- Place and finish concrete and complete all concreting work
- Install reinforcement and steel components and secure them properly
- Help with Form, Reo, Pour and other civil construction tasks, plus any extra civil duties the project requires
- Get the work area, materials and equipment ready before you start
- Read drawings and follow what supervisors and site management tell you
- Use hand tools, power tools and construction equipment in a safe way
- Follow site safety procedures to keep the workplace safe, spot possible hazards and report them quickly
- Keep the quality of your work high on every task and finish it within the project timeframes
- Work well with other trades and construction crews
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 3 years' experience in relevant civil construction
- Proven hands-on experience in your nominated construction trade
- Able to show your previous employment and the work responsibilities you held
- A current White Card
- Relevant trade tickets or qualifications, where applicable
- Tickets for Dogman, Working at Heights, Telehandler, CN, C6 or HR are advantageous
- A strong understanding of how to work safely in construction
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions on site
- Can be productive on your own and as part of a team
- A strong eye for detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable with attendance, responsibilities and project deadlines, and able to work on metropolitan, regional and interstate projects
