Floor Restaurant Manager

Do you love Italian food and enjoy running a dining room? A well-known Italian hospitality business in New South Wales wants an experienced Restaurant Floor Manager. It is a good place to grow your career.

The right person is confident on the floor and truly understands Italian dishes, products and the way Italians dine. Guests will see you at the heart of their visit. Your job is to keep the restaurant running smoothly and to lead and develop the front-of-house staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the leader of front-of-house staff and look after restaurant service every day
  • Run the dining floor so guests find it efficient and welcoming
  • Plan restaurant activities together with the chef and senior management, and help the management team with daily operations
  • Give each staff member clear duties so service flows well
  • Make sure all customers get a high level of service, every time
  • Supervise the team, fix operational problems when they appear and check that staff follow workplace policies and procedures
  • Train team members and help them grow so they meet service expectations
  • Keep hygiene, cleanliness and food safety at a high standard
  • Check stock, keep correct stock records, place orders with suppliers and think about what is in season
  • Protect the quality and true Italian character of the dining experience

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in restaurant management or floor management
  • You know Italian food, cuisine and products well
  • You have led and supervised hospitality staff before, and you have strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent people skills and customer service
  • You can train, motivate and coordinate staff well
  • Very good at organising and managing time, and you stay calm and professional when the restaurant is busy
  • You know food safety, hygiene and workplace standards
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • An Italian background, or strong knowledge of Italian dining culture, is highly regarded
  • You care about giving customers an exceptional experience
  • You are able to start part-time, with potential to move to full-time
