Each week brings a mix of service, maintenance and construction tasks across several sites. Expect fire-rated doors, passive fire protection systems, fire stopping and penetration sealing. You should be able to show what you have built and fixed before. Correct, compliant installation matters here, and you will own the accuracy and quality of your results.

Key Responsibilities
- Before work starts, check the plans, drawings, specifications and installation instructions
- Fit fire-rated doors and door sets, both new and replacement
- Fix and adjust existing fire doors, and handle fire door maintenance and compliance-related works
- Put in passive fire penetration protection systems, then do the fire stopping and penetration sealing
- Rectify defects and finish any related carpentry
- Take care of scheduled servicing, and support new construction and installation projects
- Meet Australian Standards and manufacturer requirements every time
- Look over your finished work for quality and compliance
- Keep good records of finished jobs and site details
- Stay safe by following health and safety procedures, and keep clients, supervisors and project staff informed
- Move between commercial, residential and industrial sites and work efficiently in each
Requirements & Eligibility
- You have done real, hands-on work in carpentry, fire protection, fire doors or a similar trade, and can demonstrate it
- You can show genuine proof of your past employment and trade experience
- Strong practical skills and a careful eye for detail
- You know what quality and compliance requirements mean, and you can interpret plans, specifications and technical instructions
- You spot problems and come up with practical fixes
- Happy working alone or in a professional team
- Reliable and responsible at work, and professional when you deal with clients
- A current Australian driver's licence, or able to obtain one where applicable
- Construction White Card
- Highly regarded: a relevant carpentry or trade qualification
- Highly regarded: past passive fire protection or fire door experience
- Able to meet the applicable sponsorship and visa eligibility requirements
