Field Service Technician

Are you good at fixing lifts and access machines? A company in Wellington, New Zealand needs an experienced technician who can find faults, service and repair Access/EWP equipment.
This job is about your real trade skills, not just sponsorship. Your verified background, hands-on ability and industry experience matter most. You will work both in the workshop and out in the field. You will help customers and keep special equipment safe, reliable and ready to use.
The role is permanent and full-time, with competitive pay, a company vehicle and a range of staff benefits. If your trade papers are in Indonesian, get English translations ready where they are needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Write clear, accurate notes on each service, inspection and repair
- Find faults on Access/EWP equipment and complete mechanical repairs
- Look after scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers and related machines with regular scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Visit customer sites to check and repair equipment, and do maintenance and repair work in the workshop
- Work out what the mechanical problem is and suggest the right repair
- Give technical help to customers and internal teams, and speak professionally with customers and colleagues
- Make sure all machinery is kept to safety and operational requirements
- Work efficiently with different equipment types and in different service settings
- Keep learning about the full range of company equipment
Requirements & Eligibility
- You hold a relevant trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Mechanical Engineering, Machinery or a related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience finding faults in, fixing and servicing machinery
- At least 2 years' experience working directly on Access/EWP equipment
- Demonstrable work on diesel and petrol machinery, and strong fault-finding and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Ready to show proof of the qualifications and jobs you list
- Full and valid driver's licence
- Basic computer skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills, and you can work independently in a field-service environment
- A strong focus on workplace safety and professional standards
- Eligible to work in New Zealand or qualify for an appropriate work visa
- Overseas candidates who are suitably qualified, with verified experience, can get sponsorship
