Key Responsibilities
- Feed and look after livestock every day, preparing and handing out feed to match production schedules
- Keep watch on how the animals are doing and report any health or welfare worries straight away
- Move and inspect livestock in a safe way during routine work
- Help with livestock processing and quality assurance tasks
- Keep farm hygiene and biosecurity standards high, cleaning work areas, facilities and equipment by approved methods
- Drive farm vehicles and use machinery in line with your training and licence requirements
- Do general upkeep around the property, such as mowing and controlling weeds
- Check farm equipment and keep it in safe working order
- Fill in daily records, keep supervisors informed, and work with the team to meet production, safety and animal welfare goals
Requirements & Eligibility
- A background in farming, livestock, agriculture, construction, landscaping, manufacturing, warehousing or any other physically demanding industry is an advantage but not essential
- Happy to work outside in all kinds of weather, physically fit and able to do manual work for the whole working day
- A positive mindset and eagerness to pick up new skills
- Good at communicating and working in a team
- Dedicated to workplace safety and animal welfare standards
- Dependable, and available for rotating rosters that include weekends and public holidays
- A current driver's licence is desirable
- Eligible for Australian visa sponsorship
