Event and Commercial Manager

Do you love the buzz of event day? This role puts you at the centre of major sporting events in Western Australia. It is a full-time, hybrid job based in Floreat, Perth.
The work has two sides. First, you lead events from the first plan to the final result on the day. Second, you grow the commercial side, with partners, sponsors and income. Both help the organisation keep growing.
The employer wants someone with real events experience they can show. You should be organised, accountable and good with people. You should also be happy to own a project from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead major sporting events, from early planning right through to delivery on the day
- Make quick, confident calls and run operations while events are live
- Help Race Directors deliver State Series and Championship events
- Organise event-day staff, volunteers, contractors and logistics
- Keep track of deadlines, resources and competing priorities, and fix operational problems with practical solutions
- Look after sponsors, partners, suppliers, contractors, volunteers and other stakeholders
- Grow commercial and community partnerships, activate sponsorships and find new partners
- Team up with marketing to promote events and share clear information
- Find ways to lift participation, revenue, event quality and the experience of stakeholders
- Use your event management know-how to keep improving delivery, and add value to strategic projects that help the organisation grow
Requirements & Eligibility
- Essential: relevant event management experience, shown through work in professional event management or a related field
- A proven record of coordinating and delivering events successfully
- A history of taking ownership and getting practical results
- Strong skills in building relationships and communicating
- Experience dealing with sponsors, partners, suppliers or other external stakeholders
- A commercial mindset, with an understanding of revenue and how a business grows
- Excellent planning and organisation, with close attention to detail
- Strong skills in making decisions and solving problems
- Able to perform well when the pace is fast and the pressure is high
- A confident leadership style and a willingness to be hands-on
- A strong focus on the experience of customers, members and the community
- Able to manage several projects and priorities at the same time
- Flexible availability for occasional weekend work and longer event hours
- Willing to work in Western Australia
