Electrical Linesman and crane/borer operator

Powerline work is in demand in Australia. Electrical infrastructure employers in New South Wales are hiring people with real experience to fill several roles: Distribution Linesmen, Transmission Linesmen, Transmission TAs and Crane Borer Operators.
Your background might be in overhead distribution, transmission, pole construction, stringing, structural work or operating plant. Whatever it is, it must be clear and possible to verify.
Applicants from overseas with experience are welcome. If needed, more training can be arranged to bring the qualifications you already hold up to Australian standards. Indonesian-language certificates should be translated into English where the visa rules ask for it.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out construction work on overhead electrical distribution networks
- Dress poles, stand new ones and replace old power poles
- Put in overhead electrical infrastructure and look after it
- Run out mains and conductors, and complete conductor stringing jobs
- Take part in transmission line construction: dress and erect transmission poles and H structures
- Assist when towers are being built and erected
- Climb up electrical transmission structures
- Use network drawings and line diagrams to guide your work
- Check the condition of electrical transmission assets
- Recognise hazards and solve problems on the job
- Handle ancillary and support linework, and operate crane/boring plant if you hold authorisation
- Stick to workplace safety and quality procedures, and be a productive member of crews and site teams
- Move between project locations when required and go on occasional assignments away from home
- Do overtime if it is required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Practical, proven background in overhead electrical work
- Linework experience in distribution or transmission that is relevant to the role
- Ability to prove your technical skills and previous jobs
- Construction White Card
- Driver's licence
- Good at solving problems in the workplace; dependable and team-minded
- Can stay safe as conditions on the job change
- Happy to travel for projects and to spend short periods working away
- The preferred qualification is Certificate III ESI in Transmission and Distribution Overhead
- Tickets: Work at Heights (preferred), CPR (preferred), Dogging (preferred), Rigging (preferred)
- A High Risk Work Licence is preferred
- Overseas qualifications that are relevant will be considered
- Ready to complete further Australian-recognised training where required
- Sponsorship is offered to suitable applicants
