Crusher Fitter / Boilermaker

Big crushers and screens break down, and someone has to get them running again. Could that be you? A company that specialises in servicing heavy equipment is hiring an experienced Crusher Fitter / Boilermaker. The job is full-time.
You need solid practical skill with machines, hydraulics and plant upkeep. Your certificates and job history should prove that skill clearly. Expect to work on all sorts of plant used in quarries, mines and processing: keeping it maintained, tracking down faults, fixing it and servicing it in the field.
Your week is a mix. Sometimes you stay in the workshop. Sometimes you head out to clients in the city, in regional towns or at remote sites. Tip: write an English-language CV that names the plant and machines you have worked on.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep mobile and fixed crushers and processing plant in good order with servicing, mechanical fixes and planned maintenance
- Work out what is wrong with a machine and what it needs to be repaired
- Trace hydraulic problems with the help of schematics, manuals and technical data, and check pressure and flow
- Fault-find 12V and 24V electrical controls, follow electrical diagrams and test voltage and continuity
- Check machines over and get them ready before delivery
- Work to OEM specifications and the approved maintenance steps
- Go out to clients in the city, the regions and remote places to service machines and give technical support, including regional travel when required
- Note the state of each machine and suggest what remedial work it needs
- Write up technical service reports and condition reports
- Log every inspection, repair, setting and test accurately, and photograph the finished work as proof
- Explain machine problems and the work you have done directly to customers
- Stay safe whether you are on a site or at the workshop
Requirements & Eligibility
- You hold a relevant trade qualification in Fitting, Boilermaking or a comparable mechanical trade
- You have at least 2 years in the industry since finishing your training
- You have proven quarry or mining fixed plant experience and relevant hands-on work with crushing and processing machines
- You can demonstrate mechanical repair and maintenance experience
- You know hydraulic systems and how to diagnose them in practice, and you can read and understand hydraulic schematics
- You can read and understand electrical schematics and carry out basic electrical tests on 12V and 24V systems
- You can prove and verify your earlier trade jobs and experience
- Full unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence
- HR Licence is desirable
- Forklift Licence is desirable
- You are fit enough for manual work in the field
- You are happy to work in metropolitan, regional and remote places
- You can pass a pre-employment medical as well as Drug and Alcohol screening
- You solve mechanical problems well, motivate yourself and act before being asked
- You communicate well, give good customer service and stay professional with customers and site crews
