Do you want your cooking to make a real difference? A professional healthcare catering service in Victoria needs an experienced Cook. Here, steady food quality and reliable kitchen work help support patient care.

This role suits a Cook with genuine commercial kitchen experience. You should follow set food preparation procedures and feel confident in a structured, high-volume kitchen. Your practical skills, food safety knowledge and teamwork will be key to doing well.

If a police certificate is requested, applicants in Indonesia can arrange an SKCK from the Indonesian National Police.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cook meals that follow approved recipes and menu requirements, and match each patient's individual dietary and nutritional requirements
  • Plan food preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner services, and finish meals inside the required production and service timeframes
  • Keep food quality, presentation and consistency high, with careful portion control
  • Follow procedures for food safety, hygiene, infection control and kitchen safety
  • Check food storage, rotate stock properly and keep the kitchen clean, hygienic and organised
  • Work closely with the catering team so meal service runs smoothly
  • Adapt when operational needs change, while keeping service standards
  • Help patients have a positive experience by preparing quality food reliably

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Demonstrated professional experience as a Cook in commercial kitchens, healthcare, aged care, hospitality or catering
  • Practical knowledge of cooking procedures and commercial food preparation
  • Understanding of hygiene, food safety and the requirements for handling food safely
  • Relevant qualifications in food safety or food handling
  • Able to follow recipes, menus, dietary instructions and workplace procedures consistently
  • Can work efficiently in a busy kitchen while meeting strict service deadlines
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing to work rotating shifts that include weekends and public holidays
  • A professional way of working, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail, and a genuine interest in helping patient wellbeing through quality meals
  • Able to meet applicable pre-employment requirements for employment, work-rights, references, criminal history and health
  • Visa sponsorship available for the right candidate
