Coded Welder

Are you an experienced Coded Welder? A long-term role is open in Western Australia for a tradesperson who can handle tough industrial maintenance and fabrication work.
You need genuine time on the tools and qualifications that are recognised. You also need the technical ability to do work that meets coded welding requirements. Your days will include fixed plant maintenance, structural fabrication, repairs, modifications, shutdowns and breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities
- Weld to code on pressure pipe and structural steel, including 6G welding, and finish all fabrication to the required standards
- Repair and change fixed plant such as pumps, thickeners and other industrial machines
- Make new piping, tanks, chutes, hoppers and ductwork, and repair old ones
- Fix structural supports and put in new parts where old ones are worn or damaged
- Read engineering drawings and technical specifications and work from them
- Do planned preventative maintenance, and help when there are breakdowns or corrective jobs
- Join shutdowns and scheduled maintenance campaigns
- Do fabrication jobs in the workshop and out on site
- Make every job accurate, safe and high quality, and use the site safety procedures and required welding standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Has demonstrated experience working as a Coded Welder, backed by a strong hands-on background in fabrication and welding
- Able to successfully complete a 6G weld test
- Cert III Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Engineering Trade qualification
- Experience with fixed plant maintenance is highly desirable
- A welding and fabrication work history that can be verified, plus proof of your trade experience and relevant qualifications
- Current Working at Heights certification
- Current Confined Space certification
- Both the Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications obtained within the previous 2 years
- Current driver's licence
- Can pass a pre-employment medical check
- Cares strongly about safety, quality and professional workmanship
