CNC Press Brake / Turret Operator

Is your sheet-metal work proven on the shop floor? Then this could suit you. A business in Selwyn, Canterbury needs a Press Shop Team Member with practical Press Brake and/or Turret experience. You will run advanced CNC manufacturing equipment in a long-term role in New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up Press Brake and/or Turret CNC machines, choose the right operating settings, and run them in production
- Read technical drawings, work orders and production instructions
- Process sheet-metal parts to the specified dimensions and tolerances, using forming, bending and straightening operations
- Check each part for the required accuracy and quality, adjusting the machine to keep output consistent
- Track production performance and keep material waste low
- Finish your assigned jobs on time for production and delivery schedules
- Spot and report any problems with equipment, materials or quality
- Follow every manufacturing, quality and workplace safety procedure
- Keep machines and work areas neat and in order
- Talk clearly with supervisors and the production team, and help the Press Shop run smoothly each day
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven, practical experience on Press Brake and/or Turret machinery
- Earlier experience in manufacturing or sheet-metal fabrication
- Hands-on CNC experience in machine operation and/or setup
- Able to understand production specifications and technical drawings, with knowledge of sheet-metal forming and bending processes
- Demonstrated care for quality and accuracy, and able to work efficiently where production is the focus
- Strong safety awareness, a reliable work attitude, and good communication and teamwork skills
- Willing to work night shifts, Monday to Friday
- Able to give a verifiable employment history and relevant experience
