Chefs with solid training and real kitchen skills deserve a place where that is valued. A Queensland restaurant with an established name needs a Qualified Chef for its professional culinary team. They want a proven history in quality restaurant or hotel kitchens, plus readiness to use those skills in Australian hospitality.

The menu centres on traditional Italian and Roman food, pasta made fresh by hand, and produce chosen with care from local and international suppliers. Service is busy. Working beside seasoned colleagues, you will bring consistency, discipline and pride to each shift, and keep growing as a cook.

Tip: an English-language CV that names the restaurants and hotels you have cooked in is a good start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stick closely to house recipes and quality benchmarks when preparing and cooking
  • Make traditional Italian and Roman-style dishes, using classical techniques across many menu items
  • Help with fresh pasta made by hand and prepare fresh ingredients
  • Get mise en place done quickly and well ahead of service
  • Keep food quality, presentation and portion sizes consistent, and watch quality from prep to plate
  • Support the kitchen across daily lunch and dinner services
  • Follow hygiene, food safety and workplace procedures
  • Work from a tidy, organised, professional station
  • Keep up the pace during busy, high-volume periods
  • Talk clearly with fellow chefs and kitchen colleagues, and help build a positive, professional team culture
  • Help prepare stocks and keep the kitchen generally organised

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Qualified Chef with professional experience of minimum 2 years
  • A relevant culinary qualification or a recognised trade certificate
  • Demonstrated time in a restaurant or hotel that focuses on quality
  • Strong hands-on skills in cooking and food prep, and able to produce dishes to professional standards every time
  • Understands classical cooking techniques
  • A genuine interest in traditional cooking methods and Italian cuisine
  • Performs well in a high-volume kitchen
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Good time management and organisation, and can multitask without losing attention to detail
  • Professional and reliable at work
  • Willing to learn and grow alongside an experienced culinary team
  • Available for scheduled lunch and dinner services
