A new restaurant is about to open in Queensland, and the hospitality team behind it needs an experienced Chef. You will help with the launch. The employer wants practical skills, reliability and leadership in the kitchen.
The right person is a proven culinary professional. You can show strong commercial kitchen experience, steady food preparation standards and good teamwork. If you have real hands-on experience and can take responsibility when the kitchen is busy, you are encouraged to apply.
The job is full-time. Pay is $70,000–$80,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise junior kitchen staff and train them
- Cook menu items to the required recipes and standards, with the same flavour, presentation and portion size every time
- Keep food preparation and service procedures running smoothly, and organise the kitchen in busy trading periods
- Help develop the menu and make recipes better
- Make sure the kitchen follows food safety requirements and stays clean and safe to work in
- Check how stock is used, see what needs ordering and help with stock rotation and reducing waste
- Support cost control and efficient operations in the kitchen
- Communicate well with other kitchen and service staff
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant cookery qualification is preferred
- At least 3 years of professional Chef experience, including demonstrated hands-on work in a commercial kitchen
- Strong understanding of food preparation and cooking procedures
- Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
- Can manage competing kitchen priorities and maintain quality during high-volume service
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A reliable and committed approach to work
- Experience with Mexican cuisine is advantageous
- Able to undertake interstate training when required
- Sponsorship consideration available for suitably qualified applicants
