Key Responsibilities
- Plate up quality meals that match the recipes and presentation standards
- Share ideas for menus, new recipes and seasonal changes
- Make sure every dish tastes the same, looks right and is the correct portion
- Supervise food prep to keep standards high
- Rotate stock, manage inventory and place orders, cutting waste through good stock control
- Keep your kitchen tidy, organised and efficient
- Meet all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety rules
- Support your co-workers in busy services and help junior cooks learn
- Report any equipment that needs maintenance
- Suggest improvements to kitchen operations and customer satisfaction
- Keep food quality and service excellent at all times
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years cooking as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or a qualification that is equivalent
- Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations
- Understands HACCP principles, food safety and hygiene
- Excellent time management and organisation
- Works efficiently under fast-paced conditions, communicates well and is a strong team player
- Positive, with a strong work ethic
- Ready to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Asian cuisine experience is highly regarded but not essential
- Committed to high standards in food quality and presentation
