Key Responsibilities
- Cook a wide range of top-quality dishes that satisfy your customers
- Make sure every plate has the same quality, portion size and presentation
- Look after food preparation, prep ingredients and help with stock control and kitchen organisation
- Support your fellow cooks so service flows smoothly and quickly
- Help put the menu out when the restaurant is full
- Work by food safety procedures and stay very hygienic
- Leave the kitchen clean and organised and keep it compliant with workplace standards
- Bring a positive, professional spirit, pass on your knowledge and help the kitchen get better over time
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven Chef experience in commercial hospitality, with a background in busy restaurants, hotels or other similar food service operations
- Keeps food consistent and of good quality even in high-volume service
- Strong knowledge of hygiene practices, food safety and how a kitchen runs
- Excellent communication skills and a team player
- An upbeat attitude and a real commitment to customer satisfaction
- Can do flexible shifts, which include public holidays, weekends and evenings
- Well organised and careful with detail
- Relevant culinary training or industry experience preferred
- Sponsorship is available for qualified candidates. Overseas applicants must be eligible for New Zealand work visa requirements
