Key Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare high-quality food in the kitchen every day
- Plan prep tasks so service is smooth and on time, and run the kitchen flow from prep until service ends
- Keep portions, presentation and food quality the same every time
- Help with new seasonal dishes, creative ideas and menu changes
- Use your knowledge of food costing and pricing to keep the kitchen profitable
- Watch how much stock is used, cut waste and find ways to work more efficiently
- Keep food safety, hygiene and workplace compliance at a high level
- Share your knowledge with junior staff and guide them
- Help build a kitchen culture that is friendly and professional
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated work as a Chef, or as an experienced Cook, in a commercial kitchen
- A relevant cooking qualification, or a strong and proven background in the industry
- A verified work history, and able to show your practical skills
- Understanding of kitchen operations, stock management and food costing
- Able to work efficiently when the hospitality setting is fast-paced
- Strong attention to detail
- A real commitment to food quality
- Professional communication skills and a dependable work ethic
- Able to work well with both kitchen and service teams
- Willing to relocate and build a career in New Zealand
- Employer-supported visa sponsorship may be considered for eligible candidates, depending on their skills and experience and on New Zealand immigration requirements
