Do you have real experience in a commercial kitchen? A busy hospitality kitchen in New South Wales needs an experienced Chef de Partie. You will be responsible for a section inside an established team.
The employer is not just filling a spot. They want a chef whose qualifications, job history and practical skills can be shown and checked. Your day will include running your section, keeping food and presentation standards high when service is busy, and working well with senior chefs and the rest of the team.
You get a structured 38-hour week, modern kitchen facilities and the chance to grow your career in a professional place. Prepare your certificates and work references early, with English translations where the visa rules require them.
Key Responsibilities
- Look after your assigned section from prep through to the end of service, check it is ready and tell senior chefs what it needs
- Set up the mise en place each day based on what service needs
- Cook menu items with proper commercial techniques, and keep quality, portion sizes and presentation the same every time
- Stay fast and organised when service is busy and high-volume
- Work as a team with chefs, apprentices and front-of-house staff, and show apprentices practical tasks and set procedures
- Keep yourself and your workstation very clean
- Follow HACCP, food safety and workplace health and safety procedures
- Help with correct food storage, stock rotation and keeping the kitchen organised
- Help the kitchen run smoothly and professionally every day
Requirements & Eligibility
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years of real experience in commercial kitchens
- You have worked before in a high-volume hospitality setting
- You can show you are able to run a kitchen section with limited supervision
- Strong practical cooking and knife skills, and you understand professional food preparation and service procedures
- You meet quality and presentation expectations every time
- Your employment history and experience must be able to be verified
- Your qualifications and relevant supporting documents must be available where required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- You are reliable, responsible and professional, and you stay organised and calm during busy services
- You are available for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays
- Full working rights in Australia, and you are willing to complete a 6-month probationary period
