Love cooking and leading a kitchen team? A residential aged care home in New South Wales, in the Coraki area, needs a Chef Manager to take charge of its kitchen.
Here, cooking talent must come with real experience, good leadership and a professional history. The employer is after a seasoned Chef who can prove their qualifications and practical skill, and who can lead a team while keeping standards consistently high.
Your food matters to the residents. Each meal should be healthy, tasty and right for the person eating it. You also keep the kitchen running smoothly and meet food safety compliance. Keep your chef certificates and work references ready in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, coordinating food prep, kitchen schedules and the day's workflow
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, give them support, and grow a positive, professional team culture
- Design and serve top-quality meals for residents, adapting each one to dietary, nutritional and individual needs
- Apply HACCP, hygiene and food safety procedures
- Monitor how consistent, well presented and good-quality the food is
- Get the most from food stock, equipment and other kitchen resources
- Spot and introduce improvements in the kitchen and dining room
- Collaborate with care and support staff
- Build respect with residents, families and colleagues
- Meet all relevant food safety and workplace standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- You hold a recognised Chef qualification, and your supporting documents can be verified
- You have demonstrated professional Chef experience and have supervised or managed a kitchen before
- You have worked in high-volume or large-scale catering
- You have strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements
- You can prepare a variety of nutritious, high-quality meals, and you understand dietary and nutritional requirements
- Your leadership, communication and people skills are strong
- You manage a kitchen in a reliable, organised way
- Previous aged care, healthcare, hospitality or institutional catering experience is advantageous
- You can provide evidence of your qualifications and relevant work history
- You can meet the applicable Australian employment and visa requirements, and eligible international candidates can access employer sponsorship
