Key Responsibilities

  • Cook and prepare food to the kitchen's set quality standards, with neat presentation and correct portions
  • Send out consistent à la carte dishes when service is busy
  • Handle prep work, stock preparation and other kitchen jobs efficiently
  • Work in any section of the kitchen, and take charge to keep things running when needed
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health rules
  • Keep the kitchen tidy, clean and safe
  • Help train and develop junior chefs and apprentices
  • Talk clearly with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
  • Help keep the team culture positive and professional
  • Look for ways to make the kitchen more efficient and the food better

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in professional kitchens
  • Past experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role
  • Proven experience cooking à la carte dishes
  • Strong hands-on cooking and food preparation skills, and an understanding of professional food safety and hygiene standards
  • Able to work on your own in a busy kitchen, with performance that is reliable and consistent
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A professional attitude and commitment to quality
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior kitchen staff is advantageous
  • Happy to work day, evening and overnight shifts
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Australian work rights are preferred
  • Willing to relocate to Western Australia
  • Sponsorship is available for the right candidate
