The kitchen is organised and works to a high standard. You will cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will also look after food prep, check quality and help coordinate the kitchen. It is a good place to grow your cooking skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Get ingredients ready and set up cooking stations before each service
  • Make sure knives, pans, scales and other equipment are prepared and close at hand
  • Cook dishes for the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, including authentic fusion-style food, to recipe and quality standards
  • Read recipes and change ingredients or methods when needed
  • Cook and plate meals quickly in busy periods, with attractive presentation that stays the same every time
  • Change meals when it is reasonable, to meet customer requests
  • Plan daily kitchen work and hand out tasks to the team
  • Help supervise and train kitchen staff
  • Tell front-of-house staff about daily specials and other kitchen news
  • Keep an eye on food stock, note what ingredients are needed soon, and help with buying and ordering
  • Check that food is fresh and good quality at all times, and throw away expired or unsuitable food following food safety procedures
  • Use commercial cooking equipment safely and well
  • Keep the kitchen clean, safe and organised

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience
  • Demonstrated professional work as a Chef or Cook
  • Experience cooking fusion-style cuisine, plus strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques and recipes
  • Hands-on experience with grills, fryers, ovens and other commercial kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of baking and pastry methods
  • Leadership ability and confidence supervising kitchen staff
  • Able to handle several tasks at once in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation rules
  • Able to keep food quality and presentation at a high standard
  • Australian work rights, or eligibility for an appropriate sponsored visa (visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates)
  • Willing to work in Western Australia
