Have you managed poultry farms before? A leading poultry breeding business in NSW wants an experienced Breeder Farm Manager near Goulburn.
You will own three big areas: flock performance, the people on the farm and the daily running of the site. Good results here come from careful husbandry, accurate monitoring, strong biosecurity and solid team leadership.
Your hands-on experience will help keep the breeder stock healthy, reach production targets and find ways to make the farm work better.

Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of how the breeder farm runs and performs every day
- Follow the set production procedures when you manage flock work
- Watch the birds' health, how the flock is doing and the main production numbers
- Rely on tested husbandry methods so the breeder stock stays high in quality
- Apply strict biosecurity, hygiene and disease-prevention practices at all times
- Make sure every animal welfare requirement is met, day after day
- Guide, supervise and grow the skills of farm employees, and decide who works where each day
- When a production issue appears, find the cause and act on it with a practical solution
- Record farm data accurately, keep operating documents in order and report on the flock and the farm
- Find chances to make the farm more productive, efficient and consistent
- Partner with senior management on the production objectives you agree together
- Encourage accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement across the farm
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on poultry production work
- Experience you can demonstrate in managing or supervising poultry farm operations
- Strong, practical breeder poultry production know-how
- Sound knowledge of how to manage flocks and apply poultry husbandry
- Knowledge of disease prevention, biosecurity and animal health
- Understanding of the industry's requirements and animal welfare standards
- A track record of leading, supervising and developing staff on a farm
- Strong time-management, planning and organising skills
- Able to interpret production data and recognise where performance is slipping
- Strong skills in reporting and in communicating with others
- Demonstrated skill at fixing hands-on problems at farm level, and a proactive attitude towards better production performance
- Commitment to biosecurity, quality standards and animal welfare
- Able to demonstrate and verify your relevant employment history and technical capabilities
- Willing to relocate to NSW
