Branch Manager

Are you a leader who likes to help people grow? A business in Tauranga, New Zealand is looking for an accomplished Branch Manager. You will lead a high-performing team and run a complex operation with many different parts.
The branch has clear targets for safety, customer service, sales, profitability and daily operations. Your job is to build a workplace where every team can do its best work while those targets are met. You will also grow customer relationships and deliver good commercial and operational results.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the whole branch and set clear goals and performance standards for everyone
- Guide and grow the managers, supervisors and operations staff who report to you
- Coach your people, spot those who could become future leaders, and help keep employees engaged so they stay
- Create a positive culture where the team is engaged and performs well
- Put health, safety and wellbeing first and lead initiatives in this area
- Build close working relationships with customers and important stakeholders
- Help the business grow through sales and business development activities
- Oversee the service, parts, sales and engineering work, pushing for efficient operations and excellent service
- Control the branch budget and look after its commercial results
- Find better ways of working and fix operational or customer problems quickly
- Take part in strategic planning with senior leaders and promote the organisation's values and professional standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- A significant track record of leadership in a branch or operations setting
- Experience managing diverse teams that cover multiple business functions
- Senior management experience in an earlier role is strongly preferred
- A background in the heavy transport, equipment, automotive or industrial sectors
- Strong experience in customer service and managing relationships
- Proven skill in running budgets and reaching commercial targets
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and develop employees
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, plus strong decision-making and problem-solving
- Able to work well at a fast pace, with a strategic mindset and practical operational ability
- A strong commitment to employee wellbeing and safety
- Relevant qualifications or experience in the industry
- Willing to relocate to New Zealand; sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas candidates
