For this employer, baking experience must be more than words on paper. An established food business in Hahndorf, South Australia is hiring a qualified Baker. You should be able to show genuine skills from a commercial bakery, real production experience and steady, reliable results.
The workplace is structured and professional. You will put your hands-on skills to use with modern bakery equipment, working beside experienced bakers to produce many kinds of bread and sweet goods.
Tip: write an English-language CV, and translate Indonesian-language certificates into English if the visa rules require it.
Key Responsibilities
- Weigh and combine ingredients accurately and get them ready for baking
- Turn out breads and sweet yeast products that meet commercial standards
- Work to established recipes, methods and production procedures
- Run the industrial ovens and commercial equipment safely
- Keep an eye on every bake so the products stay consistent
- Get the day's prep, baking and packing done as production requires, and hold standards even when time is tight and the bakery is busy
- Move ingredients and finished goods safely, including loads weighing up to 25kg
- Apply food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures; keep your workspace tidy, organised and efficient
- Work closely with fellow bakers so production targets are met, and support smooth daily operations with dependable, organised work
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Baking preferred
- Proven commercial baking experience from hands-on work in a commercial bakery or a food production setting
- Has practically used industrial ovens and commercial bakery equipment
- Can demonstrate an understanding of baking methods, recipes and production processes
- Knows the food safety and hygiene requirements
- Keeps products consistent and of good quality
- Available for early shifts commencing from approximately 2:00am
- Good stamina for physical work, and can lift up to 25kg
- Has a current and valid driver's licence and reliable transport
- Strong work ethic; you turn up dependably
- Cooperates within a professional bakery team
- Valid Australian work rights, or eligible for an appropriate visa
- Can supply supporting evidence for qualifications and relevant work experience
- Willing to be based in South Australia
- Candidates who meet the required skills and experience criteria can be sponsored
