Automotive Technicians/ Accessory Fitters

Several full-time, permanent positions are open at a long-standing car dealership in South Australia. The team needs skilled people in these areas: qualified Automotive Technicians, Diagnostic Technicians, Accessory Fitters, and 3rd or 4th Year Light Vehicle Apprentices.
The workshop is modern and handles a wide mix of vehicles. Good workmanship and excellent customer service matter here. Staff receive ongoing training from the manufacturer, room to grow their careers and a helpful team. For suitably qualified applicants from overseas who meet Australian visa requirements, employer sponsorship is on offer.
Tip: if your visa needs an English test such as IELTS or PTE, book it early.
Key Responsibilities
- Install aftermarket gear like bull bars, tow bars, canopies, roof racks and lighting, sticking to the maker's fitting instructions and quality steps
- Carry out light vehicle servicing, repairs and maintenance on schedule
- Track down electronic, electrical and mechanical faults with diagnostic tools
- Look vehicles over to identify the repairs required
- Complete each repair to the manufacturer's specifications and the standards of the workshop
- Deliver strong workmanship and keep customers satisfied
- Help the workshop stay tidy, safe and well organised, in line with workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Collaborate with management and fellow workshop staff so the workshop runs productively and efficiently
- Join ongoing training from the manufacturer and keep developing professionally
Requirements & Eligibility
- Currently undertaking a 3rd or 4th Year Light Vehicle Apprenticeship, or already qualified as an Automotive Technician or Diagnostic Technician
- Hold an automotive qualification or apprenticeship that is relevant and fits the position
- Accessory Fitter experience, or a strong aptitude for mechanical work when installing accessories
- Has serviced and repaired light vehicles, and can diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults
- Pays strong attention to detail and is committed to quality workmanship
- Positive outlook and strong work ethic
- Works effectively alone or within a team
- Communicates well and gives good customer service
- Holds a current driver's licence, or can obtain an Australian driver's licence
