Are you a skilled Automotive Glazier who likes to work on your own and earn well? This Kalgoorlie job takes you out on the road. Your clients are in the mining and industrial sectors of Western Australia.
Each day you drive to a new site and fit windscreens and other vehicle glass on the spot. You do not need to bring your own gear. The company gives you a vehicle, a phone and tools.
You can choose how you live: stay in town as a resident, or work on a FIFO roster. Both options are open.
The employer will ask for a National Police Clearance, so if you are in Indonesia, it helps to know how to get an SKCK from the Indonesian National Police.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive out to client locations and carry out glazing work as a mobile service
- Fit new windscreens and other glass on light vehicles, commercial trucks, heavy machinery and mining equipment
- Check what each job needs before you start any work
- Take out broken windscreens in a safe, efficient way
- Cut glass and get it ready to install
- Give every client work of a high standard
- Plan your own day with little supervision, and put jobs in order based on client and business needs
- Talk clearly with clients and with the rest of the team
- Look after your tools, your equipment and the company vehicle
- Stick to every safety rule and site procedure that applies
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Automotive Glazing Technology
- Minimum 2 years' automotive glazing experience in a relevant role, covering light vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment
- Competent at cutting automotive glass
- A high level of attention to detail and strong time management
- Able to work autonomously, and also work well as part of a team
- Excellent spoken (verbal) communication skills
- A trustworthy, reliable attitude
- Able to obtain a National Police Clearance and to pass a pre-employment medical
- Willing to take part in ongoing drug and alcohol screening
- Experience in ADAS calibration is advantageous
- Tickets for Working at Heights, EWP and Forklift are advantageous
