Aluminium Fabricator

Good with aluminium and workshop machines? A growing manufacturer in Hawera, Taranaki, New Zealand needs Aluminium Fabricators with genuine workshop experience who produce accurate, quality work every time.

You will join a structured team that makes windows and doors for residential and commercial projects. The role suits tradespeople who are confident with aluminium components, production machinery and detailed assembly.

Practical experience, attention to detail and following set processes are key to keeping production and quality standards high. Tip: write an English-language CV that shows how long you have done fabrication work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make aluminium window and door components and assemble finished products to the required specifications
  • Measure materials and parts precisely, then cut aluminium and timber on workshop saws and machinery
  • Drill and punch parts accurately
  • Fit glass and wedge units as part of production
  • Inspect finished units for quality and accuracy, and get them ready for dispatch
  • Help with deliveries when required
  • Operate workshop tools, equipment and machinery safely, and follow workplace health and safety requirements
  • Keep workstations, equipment and vehicles clean and tidy
  • Work to documented manufacturing procedures, keep production and quality steady, and finish tasks within the required timeframes
  • Cooperate well with the rest of the production team

Requirements & Eligibility

  • At least 12 months of hands-on aluminium fabrication experience, with demonstrated practical work in a manufacturing or workshop setting
  • Confident using fabrication tools and machinery
  • Can measure and cut materials accurately, and drill, punch and assemble aluminium components
  • Understands quality-control requirements and follows set production procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Physically able to lift items over 20kg
  • Reliable, punctual and responsible, with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Works productively in a team, and independently when required
  • Willing to learn and adapt to workplace processes
  • Can show genuine and relevant work experience
  • Eligible for New Zealand employment or applicable sponsorship support
