Have you built your career installing and fixing cooling systems? An established commercial services organisation in Queensland is hiring experienced HVAC and Refrigeration professionals. You must be able to show genuine trade capability and a strong history of hands-on work.
The role suits tradespeople who want to move their current skills into a structured commercial setting in Australia. Expect variety across many projects: commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, coolrooms, freezer rooms, ventilation, chilled water systems and commercial catering equipment.
International applicants can be sponsored if they meet the required skills, experience and visa criteria. This is about proving your credibility with real experience, verified qualifications and practical skill. If your certificates are in Indonesian, get them translated into English as the visa rules require.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, tracking down mechanical, electrical and refrigeration issues
- Carry out installation, servicing and upkeep of HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial settings
- Look after commercial refrigeration units together with their associated systems
- Complete planned servicing and preventative maintenance on time
- Build and maintain freezer rooms and coolrooms
- Fit and maintain commercial and industrial ventilation, including kitchen exhaust work and specialist ventilation jobs
- Service catering and kitchen equipment for commercial clients
- Support chilled water system work, from installation to servicing and maintenance
- Run tests, commission systems and carry out performance checks
- Work from equipment specifications, drawings and technical documentation
- Record each job properly and keep service records complete
- Cooperate with fellow technicians and project teams, and keep a professional standard at commercial and industrial sites
- Obey the health and safety procedures used in Australian workplaces
- Grow your technical knowledge through training and practical experience on the job
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualified in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC, Electrical or a related trade (people with transferable skills from mechanical, maintenance, construction or manufacturing backgrounds may also be considered)
- Proven hands-on work in commercial or industrial environments
- Genuine employment history linked to this position, which can be checked and verified
- Can provide proof of trade experience, technical skills and qualifications
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration or associated mechanical systems
- Practical diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Comfortable working independently or inside a professional technical team
- Committed to safe work and to quality workmanship
- Communicates well and solves problems effectively
- Open to learning Australian workplace practices and to ongoing professional development
- Can pass the relevant skills and employment verification process
