Are you an experienced Accountant? A growing care services organisation in Western Australia needs someone with proven experience and a strong eye for detail. You should feel confident taking charge of complex accounts receivable and financial reporting work.
Your main job is to manage NDIS and brokerage receivables. You will also give accounting support to the Support at Home function. Your work covers funding claims, reconciliations, month-end reports and compliance, and it keeps financial information correct, clear and well controlled.
The role suits people who can show real accounting skill and work well with both finance and operations teams. Tip: if your degree is from Indonesia, have it translated into English where the visa rules require it.
Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for NDIS and brokerage receivables, from quotes and service agreements to invoices, claims and collecting payments
- Check funding claims and fix claims that are rejected, late or underpaid
- Match receipts to accounts, and reconcile client accounts, funding payments and remittances
- Watch unpaid accounts and follow up debts in the right way
- Reconcile the accounts receivable control accounts, look into any differences and prepare the journals and adjustments needed
- Give accounting help to the Support at Home receivables function, including client budget reconciliations and complex account questions
- Work with operations teams to confirm that services, funding arrangements, agreements and invoices are correct
- Do bank, balance sheet, general ledger and intercompany reconciliations
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other entries
- Help with the monthly and yearly financial close, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash-flow reports
- Add to management reporting and financial analysis, and help with budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and tracking spending
- Support BAS, GST, payroll tax and other statutory compliance
- Keep accounting records correct and internal controls in place
- Help improve accounting systems, reports and receivables processes
Requirements & Eligibility
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Proven experience working as a professional accountant
- Strong experience with accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, payment allocation and reconciliations
- Experience with journals, financial reporting and month-end work
- Working knowledge of Australian accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills, and experience with accounting and financial management software
- Strong skills in analysis and solving problems
- Excellent attention to detail and good organisation
- Strong communication skills in writing and speaking
- You can work on your own and still contribute well to a wider team, and you handle confidential financial information professionally
- Experience with NDIS, aged care, Support at Home or government-funded receivables is highly regarded
- Experience with quotes, service agreements and funding schedules is advantageous
- Knowing the SCHADS Award and Nurses Award is advantageous
- Experience with payroll processes and Employment Hero is advantageous
- A CPA or CA qualification, or progress toward one, is advantageous
