Key Responsibilities
- Keep improving your technical and customer-service skills, and stay current with new barbering trends, products and techniques
- Give professional barbering services to a high standard every time, and own the quality of your work
- Cut modern fades, clipper cuts and scissor cuts, and style hair
- Trim beards, groom and shave
- Talk with each client and suggest styles that suit their taste and look
- Make each visit personal and professional so clients want to come back and build long-term relationships
- Keep your station, tools and the shop clean, hygienic and well presented, and help keep the shop welcoming
- Communicate in a positive, professional way with clients and team members
- Add energy to a team that works together, and take initiative so the shop runs smoothly
- Represent the business through your conduct, appearance and workmanship
Requirements & Eligibility
- Must satisfy applicable Australian employment and sponsorship requirements, and must be eligible for the relevant sponsorship pathway where sponsorship is required
- A recognised Certificate III in Barbering, Hairdressing or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum two years of relevant professional barbering experience
- Demonstrated practical skill in fades, clipper work and scissor cutting, and competence in beard trimming, grooming and shaving
- You understand contemporary barbering styles and techniques
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- A professional appearance and a reliable work ethic
- Strong customer-service and communication skills, and you can build genuine relationships with clients
- A positive attitude, good teamwork and a willingness to keep learning and developing professionally
- You can provide evidence of relevant qualifications
- You can provide a verifiable employment history and industry experience
- An existing personal clientele is advantageous but not essential
